A trifle for lemon lovers



  • 1 package lemon-flavored cake mix
  • 1 package instant lemon pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Lemon zest for garnish


  1. Prepare and bake the lemon cake according to package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant lemon pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Set aside.
  3. In another mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. Cut the cooled lemon cake into cubes.
  5. In a trifle dish or glass bowl, layer half of the lemon cake cubes, followed by half of the lemon pudding mixture, half of the whipped cream, and half of the sliced strawberries and blueberries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Garnish the top with lemon zest.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
